SANTA!!!

I shouldn't have told my family that we got a picture with Santa 2 weeks ago... because they have been getting on my case about posting them!

So this is how the night (2 weeks ago) went. In Sumter there is a garden called Swan Lake and it is the most beautiful place to visit. The magnolia trees in bloom are AMAZINGLY beautiful and smell like heaven! They are known for having all 8 (I think...) kinds of swans all in one location, but they are also known for their light display during the holiday season. According to the news, this is the largest free light display in South Carolina and it is only 5 minutes away from our house... neat huh?

Not only do they have a GAZILLION lights, but they also have local children singing Christmas carols and hot cocoa!

Well, I wanted to get a picture of Evan (you know, the screaming baby trying to get away from this creepy man picture!) with Santa but the lines at the mall are ridiculous... and I have to pay for them to take a picture. I would have sacrificed 45 minutes in line and a couple bucks if we didn't find Santa anywhere else... but we found him, AT SWAN LAKE! Yes, not only do they have a GAZILLION lights, local children singing Christmas carols and hot cocoa, but they have SANTA! And get this... no lines or paying for pictures!!

So we took Evan around to see all the lights and went inside to warm up (in our 40 degree weather), and then we found him... sitting in a big white chair, all dressed in red with a black belt, white cuffs on his sleeves and a fuzzy hat! Ahh... Santa! :)

Oh... you thought you could see the picture with Santa now. Oh no... you have to wait! :)

Here are some pictures from the night. Sorry I didn't get too many, it is hard to take GOOD pictures of Christmas lights... guess you will have to come visit to see them! :)

I just love him!

That's Right! Evan's FIRST Christmas!

And now Santa!! :)

Evan was a champ. No crying, whining... nothing! He sat on his lap, looked at him a few times and kept on looking adorable.

I know. I know. I, too, was hoping for a screaming baby with Santa. But not this year... maybe next!

Evan's First Food

Everyone has been pestering us, wanting to find out when we will give Evan his first solid food. I wanted to wait until 6 months because, well... there is no reason for him to have it sooner.

Even starting it now breaks my heart. WHERE IS MY TINY BABY?!

Ahhh.... well.... he is now eating some mushy foods. (But, only a couple spoonfuls a day.)

"Hey, carrots aren't so bad."
(I wanted to start out with peas, but the store didn't have any and I didn't think to get fresh peas. So, carrots it is! Peas are next!)

Mommy and Daddy were putting it off because we were in denial, we want him to stay this tiny baby. But it isn't working.

The first couple spoonfuls went down so easy. He didn't make any faces just ate it like a champ, but then the sour faces started...

HAHA!!! I love the faces!!! :)

(He really didn't make mess, he was so clean I had to add some carrots on his hands and tray for an added effect.)

Mmmm... Carrots!

Happy HALF BIRTHDAY, Evan!!

I have to admit, I have been putting this blog post off all day. Actually I have put this blog post off for the last month. Normally, I have it thought out how I am going to dress Evan, I then make the props for his shoot and I make sure I have time set aside to take photos and post the blog. The last 5 months, first thing in the morning on the 14th, I get Evan up and dressed and ready for his photo shoot. But today, we had a doctor's appointment and we were just being lazy all day. But, I finally got up the energy after Ryan left for work to take some photos to celebrate Evan's Half Birthday!

I am not sure where the last 6 months have gone, but I sure do miss them. Evan is turing into a little boy. He amazes us everyday. He has such a "go get em'" attitude and I can see him turning into an independent little man. Grabbing, rolling over, wanting to stand, and banging on everything. He puts a smile on our face every time we look at him. (Even when he is fussing!) The past 6 months have been amazing. Evan has brought so much pure joy to our lives and continues to put a smile on our face and the faces of those around him.

I can still remember the moment they put him on my chest. I didn't care, boy or girl, I was just in love. I couldn't take my eyes off him and didn't want him to leave my side. We have been blessed with a handsome, giggly, on the move little boy. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

(Now that I have admitted my tiny baby is now a big 6 month old, I need to wipe the tears from my eyes and post some pictures!!)

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the last 6 months!
