Ryan and I were planning on creating a belly cast to decorate and hang in Little Bit's room but never got around to it. But, I got an email from a lady down here that wanted to cast my belly for some projects she was doing and then she would cast one for me to keep, for free! So of course I said yes! I mean how can you pass that up!? I didn't anticipate belly casting to be such a messy project! Instead of wearing clothes that could get dirty, I wore my normal everyday clothes... whoops! We decided not to risk ruining my clothes, so we belly casted in just my underwear! The plaster she was using was super cold, but in about 3 hours we had 3 belly casts done! This is the one she made for me! :)
After hours of shaping, sanding and painting, this is what I came up with!
Now I am just waiting to put a name, date and weight on it! :)
Since I want to keep this baby with me all the time... I made a couple of slings. Sumter, unfortunately, doesn't have a decent fabric store, so I had to improvise! I went to Anna's Linens and bought some cheap sheet sets and some rings from Ace Hardware. The nice thing about the sheet sets is that they are so light weight and great for summer days in South Carolina! So... $16 dollars later, I have 2 (with leftover fabric to make 2 more if I want) slings!
And since I haven't posted final pictures of Little Bit's room...
So Ladies and Gentlemen, we are 10 days from Little Bit's due date and so far I am feeling great! I am starting to have some pain in my hips, but very very little swelling in my feet and hands. My midwife assured me that the hip pain is normal, and just means the baby is shifting down and so things are having to be moved around. The heart rate at the last appointment was 138 bmp and still head down! Grandma Cindy is arriving today, so no more keeping my legs crossed! I am ready to have this baby out!! :)
Any day now.....
Thanks for stopping by!
Love,
