BOO!! Happy Halloween!

I know, I know, I know... Halloween isn't until Monday, but we celebrated early!

We started out our day with a First Birthday celebration for Evan's friend (future girlfriend) Adaleigh. We had yuummmy stromboli, fabulous cookie cake and a trip to the base for the Boo Bash. Although the Boo Bash wasn't quite what we were expecting... (chaos, long lines and cold weather) we still had fun!

Growing up in COOLLDD Colorado, I know how to dress warm for trick-or-treating! It never fails... snow on Halloween. The best costumes were those you could hide a snowsuit under. It was always amusing to see the little Jasmine's from Aladdin or the cheerleaders with a big puffy coat under their skirts and gloves on! Although we had no snow, it was still chilly. But don't you worry... Mommy knows how to make an adorable... and very warm costume!

Before the party.

I know I am biased, but he is the CUTEST lion I have ever seen!

Asleep at the Boo Bash

Ryan and Adaleigh (her wings were the size of her, but she looked ADORABLE!)

Waldo, Orbit gum girl, and the CUTEST sleepy lion!

I couldn't get enough of him in that outfit.

We ended the night at the Allen's house for an awesome Halloween/Costume party! Again... yummy food, music, adult drinks, bon fire and carmel apples! :)

Thanks for stopping by! And Happy Halloween!!

PUMPKINS!

It has been a tradition in the Hermanson household to carve pumpkins a few days before Halloween. But we don't just carve pumpkins, we CARVE them. My dad (Eric) is the master pumpkin carver; he has the patience, skillful hand, and the eye for the perfect pattern for any pumpkin. Well... let's just say, I inherited his beautiful eyes, not his pumpkin carving skills.

Since this is Evan's first pumpkin carving experience, I want him to learn from the best. Therefore, he stuck with what he does best... painting! Ryan and I tried our hand at the pumpkin carving craft. I chose the easiest one I could find and Ryan, well, he wanted to "go big or go home." After about an hour, pumpkin guts everywhere, Evan's bumbo chair covered in paint and a dozen pins to hold our pumpkin creations together... this is what we have to show for it!

Here are some pictures from the night...

Evan and King hanging out while Mommy and Daddy carve.

Before I roasted them... these are Ryan and I's favorite fall snack!

Heavy concentration.

Pumpkin GUTS!

Mommy's easy pumpkin.

You will see why we needed this... :)

NAKED BABY!

Oooooo!

He got mad at first...

But he started to like it!

Yup... that is why we had the bath stuff standing by!

Clean baby!

The after effects! Poor bumbo...

We are trying to gain some mad pumpkin carving skills, but it takes practice! Hopefully Grandpa Eric will teach Evan how to carve a pumpkin someday! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Catch-Up Monday

Since there is lots going on in the Winter family, I thought a Catch-Up was an order!

A local farm is quite a hit around here, so we thought we should check it out. And Evan needed his first pumpkin! :) Here are some pictures from our fun day!! (And yes, Evan had to support the Avalanche on their opening day, Thank you Grandpa Eric!)

Let's just say... they had lots of pumpkins to choose from!
