Happy HALF BIRTHDAY, Evan!!

I have to admit, I have been putting this blog post off all day. Actually I have put this blog post off for the last month. Normally, I have it thought out how I am going to dress Evan, I then make the props for his shoot and I make sure I have time set aside to take photos and post the blog. The last 5 months, first thing in the morning on the 14th, I get Evan up and dressed and ready for his photo shoot. But today, we had a doctor's appointment and we were just being lazy all day. But, I finally got up the energy after Ryan left for work to take some photos to celebrate Evan's Half Birthday!

I am not sure where the last 6 months have gone, but I sure do miss them. Evan is turing into a little boy. He amazes us everyday. He has such a "go get em'" attitude and I can see him turning into an independent little man. Grabbing, rolling over, wanting to stand, and banging on everything. He puts a smile on our face every time we look at him. (Even when he is fussing!) The past 6 months have been amazing. Evan has brought so much pure joy to our lives and continues to put a smile on our face and the faces of those around him.

I can still remember the moment they put him on my chest. I didn't care, boy or girl, I was just in love. I couldn't take my eyes off him and didn't want him to leave my side. We have been blessed with a handsome, giggly, on the move little boy. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

(Now that I have admitted my tiny baby is now a big 6 month old, I need to wipe the tears from my eyes and post some pictures!!)

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the last 6 months!

Thanksgiving Part 2

Here are some more pictures from Thanksgiving! :)

Chatting away.

The whole group before we stuffed our faces!

Evan's FIRST carrousel ride at the Zoo!
(It was also Brinley's first ride too, she enjoyed... the last part of the ride!)

Sleepy baby Evan at the Zoo!

Grandpa and Grandma with all their grandbabies! (minus the one cooking in Aunt Tracy's belly)

Adorable!
(Evan, Brinley, Titus)

Uncle John, Aunt Janel and Evan.
(If you look at Evan's face, you can see scratches on his left side. Our poor baby got malled by the dogs while laying on the floor, when the front door opened. We had a great security system, but they don't pay attention to where they are stepping! It is all healed now.)

As if Evan didn't have enough first's...

He went SWIMMING for the first time!! :)

He did enjoy it for a little while. But he started to get cold...

Thanksgiving

This is how it started... After Evan was born Grandma Cindy begged us to go to Aunt Tracy's house in St. Louis for Thanksgiving this year. Everyone was going to be there, Aunt Janel (Uncle Roger couldn't make it...), Brinley, Titus, Aunt Tracy, Uncle John, Gram, Gramps, and Grandma and Grandpa. It was a long way out so, just like when we were kids, the answer was "we'll see".  It wasn't because we didn't want to go, it was because well... we couldn't afford it. (Being a Stay-at-Home-Mommy has its downfalls!) But Grandma was NOT taking "No" for an answer. So, Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for helping us out so we could spend some much needed family time together!

I was SOOO excited to go... but... 13 HOURS in a car with a 5 MONTH OLD?! (and we took King too!!) Yikes! I wasn't too nervous about King, he loves car rides! But, I know how much Evan HATES his car seat, so I was super nervous. I packed a couple days ahead of time. I made sure we had everything except the kitchen sink.

Breast pump, check.
Clothes, check.
Jammies, check.
Socks, check.
Jacket, check.
Hats, check.
Shoes, check.
Pack 'n Play, check.
Blankets, check.
Stroller, check.
Car seat, check.
Diapers and wipes, check.
I even made sure to take some of his favorite toys away a week ahead of time, so he would be excited about them for our trip. CHECK!

Even having all of this packed and ready to go, I was still dreading the 13 hour drive. I pictured in my head Evan screaming at the top of his lungs, balling his eyes out, stopping every hour to nurse... I was ready (well... as ready as I could be) for the worst!

Since we know how Evan looovvveess his car seat... NOT! We decided to head out at 3am to, hopefully, have him sleep through most of the ride. So, we were up at 3am and ready to go. The last thing to go into the car... Evan! Luckily, he slept through the transition to his car seat! :)

And to my surprise, he didn't wake up until about 6:30am! So we stopped to get gas, feed the baby, let King pee and get out and stretch. To my surprise, AGAIN, Evan fell asleep. He slept most of the way to Tracy's with very little crying! YAY!!

We made perfect timing and arrived at Tracy and John's at about 4:30pm. Not too shabby for driving with an infant and a dog.

During our 6 day stay, we had so much fun! Thanksgiving dinner was awesome, we went swimming at Gram and Gramps hotel pool, made super delicious cinnamon rolls (Thanks Pioneer Woman), played at the City Museum (It is a MUST if you are in St. Louis!), and loved on the babies! But, I have to say, Ryan and I were pretty surprised that we spent 6 days with Gram... and NO CARDS! (If you know Gram, that is a HUGE shocker! She is a card playin' fool.)

Okay okay okay... I have to admit it... I am a terrible mommy. I didn't take A SINGLE picture on our camera. So... Thank you Aunt Tracy for sending me some pictures of our AWESOME Thanksgiving!

(They are not in any sort of order)

Brinley LOVES Uncle Ryan!

We played at the City Museum. That rope swing KILLED my abs!!

I couldn't climb through this last time we went (I was 27 weeks pregnant!)

Brinley finally warmed up to climbing through everything.

Uncle Ryan helping Brinley climb through the tunnel.

We are inside a bird cage!

Brinley saw a HUGE catfish in that water!

Lovin' the pose!

Yep, BOTH of his Aunts are the best!

Fell asleep on Grandpa just before we left.

Thank you Aunt Tracy and Uncle John for letting us take over your house for a few days! We had a blast. Next year, we will host... wherever we are!

Thanks for stopping by!

BOO!! Happy Halloween!

I know, I know, I know... Halloween isn't until Monday, but we celebrated early!

We started out our day with a First Birthday celebration for Evan's friend (future girlfriend) Adaleigh. We had yuummmy stromboli, fabulous cookie cake and a trip to the base for the Boo Bash. Although the Boo Bash wasn't quite what we were expecting... (chaos, long lines and cold weather) we still had fun!

Growing up in COOLLDD Colorado, I know how to dress warm for trick-or-treating! It never fails... snow on Halloween. The best costumes were those you could hide a snowsuit under. It was always amusing to see the little Jasmine's from Aladdin or the cheerleaders with a big puffy coat under their skirts and gloves on! Although we had no snow, it was still chilly. But don't you worry... Mommy knows how to make an adorable... and very warm costume!

Before the party.

I know I am biased, but he is the CUTEST lion I have ever seen!

Asleep at the Boo Bash

Ryan and Adaleigh (her wings were the size of her, but she looked ADORABLE!)

Waldo, Orbit gum girl, and the CUTEST sleepy lion!

I couldn't get enough of him in that outfit.

We ended the night at the Allen's house for an awesome Halloween/Costume party! Again... yummy food, music, adult drinks, bon fire and carmel apples! :)

Thanks for stopping by! And Happy Halloween!!
