Visiting Allie and Craig!

Although we don't have family close to us in South Carolina, Ryan's cousin Allie and her boyfriend Craig, live in Augusta. In September (I think…) they were sweet enough to met us in Columbia (about 45 min. from our house) for some lunch and putt-putt. It was so nice to see family, so we decided to make a trip to their neck-of-the-woods for some lunch and sight-seeing. 


Augusta is only a little over 2 hours away, but it went by quick. Evan did awesome in his NEW car seat; hardly made a peep! He was perfectly content with his water and his new books!


We hit the road a little after 9am and arrived at 11:30ish, but it seemed quicker than that. I think Evan being so good made the trip seem quicker than it was. 


After having lunch at Carolina Ale House, we made a trip to the Savannah Rapids Pavilions. Man… I wish we had a place like that closer to us. What a beautiful place to take a walk. You can look out over the Augusta Canal Head Gates on one side and the slow moving Savannah River on the other.

What A Mess!!

We have been trying out solids for the last 2 months, but Evan hasn't been super excited about them.  I hear about these other babies that finish an entire jar of food their first time having solids… but I can only get Evan to eat a couple spoonfuls (if I am lucky). I am not a Mommy that pushes food into his mouth, I spoon it in if he wants it, if he doesn't… then he is done. 

But I was thinking one night, what if I let HIM eat it, instead of me trying to spoon it in. This sounded like a GREAT idea…

Happy Valentine's/8 Month Birthday!

What a wonderful day to have a birthday! We celebrated Evan's first Valentine's Day and his 8 month birthday on the same day! :)
